About Me
Since I can remember music has been a part of my life. My parents had me choose an instrument and a sport to play when I was a child. I ended up playing the cello, violin, and the saxophone. As I got older I started to focus on sports more, but my appreciation for music did not end. My friends and I enjoyed each other's company by cruising around the coast of Lake Michigan and other lakes near us where we would share new music with each other and try to find music that the other person would like. I think that drew me closer to music, not spending my time learning new notes and songs, but listening to music and understanding how it made me feel, and what the artist was trying to portray with a song.
My photography journey started when I was in high school, when my baseball coach invited me to take his class on photography aka Photography for Beginners. Honestly, that class did not really do it for me. I never really liked school, it was always something I struggled with, but the creativity and the idea to create something of my own stuck with me. After getting hurt in my second season of college baseball, I ended up picking up new hobbies. One of them was hiking, and the other was photography. At my college, I ended up becoming a hiking club leader and was in charge of capturing photos and content to use to get people excited about joining our club and coming on adventures with us. Funny enough my concert photography journey was very random. My friend (also named Andrew) and I went to a Wilderado concert in Colorado, and I saw a person with a camera in line and asked him if we were taking photos for the band, and sure enough he was. I asked him how I could get into it, and took his advice and have been trying to capture as many concerts as I can since then. Wow, has it been a journey and I am very thankful to capture such exciting and important moments for bands and for fans. Helping people relive a moment that is so near and dear to their heart is why I love doing what I do so much.
Thanks for taking the time to learn a little bit about me and my journey to becoming a photographer and videographer :)
Sincerely,
Andrew
